Most conventional traditions of learning considered chanting as a way to connect with our inner self, and the supreme self. In the Vedic tradition it is believed that in the current era called Kaliyuga, it is indeed chanting that will be the main tool for liberation.

Through this section, various chants from the Indian tradition will be shared in good faith for the benefit of the public. None of these are professionally recorded and hence could contain some minor errors.

Sri Stuti

Sri Stuti is one of the jewels from the long list of compositions that the great Vedanta Desika wrote. Sri Stuti is a poem dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi (the divine feminine), who is also the Goddess of Wealth and Good Nature.

Legend has it that Vedanta Desika composed this to help a poor brahmin boy, get wealthy so that he may find a suitable life partner and sustain life with her. This chant is a prayer to Sri Devi for the conferral of many kinds of auspiciousness and wealth. Wealth in the Vedic tradition is not just about monetary wealth, but also includes attributes such as health, education, sound mind, family and other worthwhile aspects that support an overall positive quality of life.
