Most conventional traditions of learning considered chanting as a way to connect with our inner self, and the supreme self. In the Vedic tradition it is believed that in the current era called Kaliyuga, it is indeed chanting that will be the main tool for liberation.

Through this section, various chants from the Indian tradition will be shared in good faith for the benefit of the public. None of these are professionally recorded and hence could contain some minor errors.

Narayana Suktam

The Narayana Suktam is, often thought of as the mystical appendix to the Purusa Suktam. While the Purusa Suktam presents the Supreme Being as an All-encompassing, Impersonal Purusa, the Narayana Suktam honours Narayana, a very personal and accessible Lord. The Narayana Suktam is a devout, touching, emotional and personal address to the Creator and sustainer of the universe. The chant also presents that the divine is residing deep in our hearts, and all we need to do is acknowledge his presence and connect with our hearts to access his grace.

This chant is part of the Taittiriya Upanisad (IV.25 - 26), which is also known as the Maha Narayana Upanisad. Listening to this chant will not only link us to Lord Naryana, but will also help us connect with the light hidden within us. May Narayana bestow his grace upon all of us in this world, for he does not discriminate against anyone.
