Yoga is both a philosophy that can be practiced, and a practice that has a deep philosophical background. Its philosophical foundations are very strong and they are very practical to our daily living. Yoga is a mirror which, if we look, reveals so much about ourselves, bringing about an inner change which reflects in our daily activities and relationships with life.
The philosophy of Yoga is compiled in a small work called the Yogasutra-s. It is respected so much that many yogis consider that only what is mentioned in Yogasutra-s are Yoga, and what is not mentioned is either not Yoga at all, or not relevant. In this work, Patanjali lays the groundwork for the philosophy of our daily practices.
To understand this philosophy of practice, this experiential weekend has been planned, where Dr. Kausthub Desikachar, son and successor of the legendary teachers T Krishnamacharya & TKV Desikachar will teach. In this seminar the philosophy of yoga and how it applies to practice will be presented in a systematic manner with a special focus on Pranayama.
